Upgrading gear increases its stats base and often enhances its extras. The value of these upgrade is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are made available.

The racial Shield elite Razortail, for example, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP, and/or to add additional defenses to missile-based build in the PvM. This makes it more exchangeable than the un-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens let you roll a purchased item such as an armor, weapon or ring. The item is replaced with another of the same kind, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective method of upgrading gear. However, they don't retain the same level as the original item, and any wasted resources aren't refunded.

The survivors can get reroll tokens in several ways, including through the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in chests and crates or buy them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute on a piece of equipment that could include increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.

Players can reroll their equipment into three categories three categories: physical power, magic power, and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase damage from weapons and melee attack and spell power boost mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional level of health.

Three types of reroll tokens are available: upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each of these upgrades the item to a better quality. To create them, you need an upgrade level reroll token. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, rare upgrades require a unique or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.

The marker for rerolling, unlike markers or tokens placed on action spaces, remains on the space till the next success is to be rerolled. This helps to prevent the waste of upgrades.

Blueprints are envelopes that show up at the beginning of each Preparation phase. They are opened using Interact by pressing on them. When they are opened, they will display an image and description of the Ingredient or Appliance. Blueprints can be exchanged for a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's store for a small amount of coins.

This means that you can move blueprints between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool when you run. This changes the kind of blueprints that a restaurant's shop has available to reroll and which are available in the Non-droppable Pool.
